Broccoli Slaw

This broccoli slaw was my Dad’s recipe. He used to make it all the time and I love it. I am not a huge fan of sweet coleslaw, so this is a refreshing change from the usual fare. My kids really like this too. Every time I make it, people comment on how much they like it.

This slaw is perfect for the hot summer months when you want something light and delicious. I will make a triple recipe when the kids are off for summer, so that it is ready anytime during the day, that we need to whip up a quick and easy meal.

My favorite time to make this broccoli slaw is when the weather turns cold, because it tastes like sunshine and summer to me.

It is simple and quick to make and it pairs well with almost anything. This broccoli slaw is delicious when served with burgers and hot dogs as well as steak or chicken. The recipe is really flexible, it is easy to double or triple and you can add just about anything to it. Try adding sunflower seeds or raisins or almonds and currants for added crunch and sweetness.
