I learned a long time ago that busy hands are happy hands. With the spring break and Easter falling in the same week, we keep a bin full of crafts and board games for bored hands. We also spend a lot of time in the kitchen baking together. The kids love making this fun trail mix. It is a great way for all the little ones to help out in the kitchen. While you handle the melted chocolate, they can measure and mix.
The recipe is very flexible, you can easily substitute with any sweet or salt bits that you have in your pantry for any of the ingredients. Mixed with marshmallows and chocolate, this trail mix will help keep hungry hands out of your kitchen.
Of course, if you have gluten free eaters in your home, simply substitute with readily available gluten free ingredients.
Fun to make and so tasty, this treat won’t last very long, so don’t forget to save some for the Easter Bunny!
