  1. Wash and drain the Swiss chard. Remove and discard the stems. Wash the leek well to remove any dirt in between the layers.
  2. Roughly chop the Swiss chard and set aside.
  3. Finely dice the leek and set aside.
  4. Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven or sauté pan.
  5. Add the leek and garlic and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the Swiss chard in batches and stir. It will cook down rather quickly, so keep adding the chard as your pan allows.
  7. Cook for 4-5 minutes and remove from the heat.
  8. Transfer the chard to a serving dish. If desired, sparingly zest a lemon over the dish and sprinkle with a small amount of salt and pepper.
