I am usually in charge of family party desserts, but there are days when I just don’t want to walk into my kitchen. The original idea for these Snickers® Truffles was my husband’s. We needed a dessert to take to a party. I was banging around the kitchen, trying to figure out something to make when he suggested that make something out of the Snickers® that we had stashed away. You know, for emergencies. Chocolate emergencies. My face must have said what I was thinking, when he asked if I could make truffles out of the candy?
As soon as he said it, I knew it was a brilliant idea. Less than thirty minutes later, these truffles were ready to go and when they disappeared at the party, I knew we had a winner.
They are so, so easy. All you need to do is cut up the candy bars, roll out the edges, and then dip the pieces into melted chocolate. Once it dries and a drizzle of a different color chocolate for decoration, let them dry and you are done!
Beautiful for any occasion and easy enough for weeknight chocolate cravings, these truffles are a delicious surprise.

- Cut each Snickers® into 4 equal pieces.
- Roll or pinch pieces to round off edges.
- Microwave chocolate chips, 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between until melted.
- Add vegetable oil to melted chocolate, stirring until well combined.
- Using a pair of forks or inverted spatulas, dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, turning to coat all sides well.
- Place on wax paper to set until dry to the touch.
- If using white chocolate, once the chocolate is set, knock off any extra, dried chocolate before coating the truffles a second time. Place on wax paper again to set until dry to the touch. If decorating with sprinkles, while chocolate is still wet, sprinkle decorations across the top of each truffle.
- If decorating with drizzle, melt chocolate chips, 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between each time until melted.
- Add vegetable oil to bowl, stirring until well combined.
- Using a fork or spoon, drizzle melted chocolate over dry truffles in your desired pattern. Allow chocolate to set completely before carefully knocking off any extra chocolate.
